The January Gifted Gorgeousness SAL

A very belated Happy New Year! I know I disappeared for a month - we were actually in Japan spending the holidays with my parents-in-law. It was so lovely. Just to have some help with the baby, to be able to leave him with his grandparents for an hour or two so I could take a walk or go shopping...priceless!

We got back a week ago. I've been trying to catch up with everything, including reading everyone's blogs, and I'm nearly there. The laundry has been done, the house has been cleaned, the fridge has been restocked. Back to normal!

Speaking of normal routines, it's time for the Gifted Gorgeousness SAL! Jo from Serendipitous Stitching has started it up again for 2017, so make sure you swing by her blog to sign up! We stitch on something that's been gifted to us through exchanges or giveaways, whether a pattern, kit, fabric, floss, whatever, and post on the 15th of the month.

A couple of months ago I started SamSarah's 3D Fresh Apple to add to my fruit bowl. You can see my last progress post here. I'm a little late, but I managed to get some more stitching done this week:

Quite a bit more stitched up. The apple is nearly finished. The problem is, I've run out of the Oatmeal floss, and I'm definitely not paying postage to order one floss, so sadly this project is going to have to wait on the backburner until I have a big enough order to warrant the postage price.

On the bright side, this means I'm going to have a poke around in my stash to see what I can stitch up for next month! I've got quite a few gifted goodies, so it really depends on which ones I can kit up easily...

I'm also going to be announcing my annual giveaway soon, so stay tuned for that!

Happy xxx's,

How frustrating to run out of floss when you're so close to being finished, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you choose to work on while you wait. Your vacation sounds lovely. It must have been wonderful to have a little time to yourself and be able to return home feeling refreshed.

It is nice to have help to get some "me time" with a young child. So annoying about running out of floss and hope you can find another fun stitch to work on in the meantime.

Sounds like a great trip! I would be browsing the stitching Internet sites like mad trying to find things to order to add to the floss!

Sounds like you had a lovely break away. Love your progress on the SamSarah apple, pity about running out of thread.

How frustrating about the floss, but looking forward to seeing which project you choose to stitch on.

Happy New Year to the three of you! It's a shame you've ran out of thread especially as it looks like there's not much left to do

Your stay in Japan must have been fantastic. And so nice for the grandparents to be able to spend time with their grandson.
Nice progress on your WIP.

Cool choice! How frustrating to run out of thread though! Guess it's time to buy some stash (only to save on postage of course!)
