Jo's Big Birthday Blog Hop!

Today the wonderful Jo of Serendipitous Stitching is celebrating her birthday with a great big gigantic blog hop! Lots of us have joined in and were assigned different years of Jo's life. To start, go to Jo's blog here.

I was assigned the year 2003. Here's what was happening in Jo's life:
"Jo was 37.  Having decided not to return to work Jo had settled into life as a SAHM.  A chance invitation from an old friend led to joining a Baby & Toddler Group where Jo made a good group of friends.  Within a few months she had been asked to join the committee and help run the group.  Jo is still running the group now, even though she does not have a toddler!
She joined a Preschool Music Group too and volunteered to edit their newsletter.  This sparked an interest in journalistic writing and encouraged her to start her blog several years later.
Stitching was sporadic but Jo did complete her son's birth sampler and a design for a friend's baby too."
It's funny that I was assigned this year and these life events. My baby boy is going to be 9 months old this week, and I've finally enrolled him in a baby group - swim class! The first class is tomorrow morning, funnily enough. They're starting now because, while the rest of the Northern hemisphere is enjoying the beginning of autumn, our weather has just now calmed down enough for babies to be out in the sun. It was literally too hot all summer for swimming classes!
Now's the part where I post pictures of stitching I've done that I think would appeal to Jo. We all know her favorite stitching is Halloween themed, so I've had a look around and here's what I've got:

Lizzie Kate's Hoot biscornu
Bonus Hoot scissor fob

Never More, by Hands On Design and Just Another Button Company, which I turned into a biscornu

A Halloween biscornu I made for an exchange a couple of years ago (I might have a biscornu addiction, you guys...)

Not a biscornu! A Halloween hanging I made for another exchange years ago.

A super happy birthday to Jo, and here's hoping that our baby group experience is as positive as hers!

Lots of love,

Thanks for taking part in the Birthday Blog Hop. How lovely that you got the perfect year for you! I loved the early years going to groups and meeting new people without the pressure of the school run. It's the most free I have ever felt in my life. Enjoy it while you can!
I love all the Hallowe'en stitching as you guessed, so many gorgeous ones to choose from! The Nevermore button is an awesome addition to the biscornu too.

Lovely blog post Sarah, love all your Halloween stitching too! Nice to learn more about you and Jo! Love the biscornu pincushion .... I've never made one, but I've seen so many this week, what with taking part in Ida's Pincushion Parade too, I think I will have to look for a biscornu pattern!

That's a great post for Jo's birthday, Sarah. I hope your little boy liked the swimming class just as much as my children did when they were still little. There were no swimming classes back then but they all loved to go to the swimming pool and to fun in the water.

Lovely Halloween stitching, Sarah. I am sure that Jo loved all of them. Have fun at baby swim lessons. Do you know, I still go out to dinner every month or so with my Mother's group - such amazing ladies and great friends for over 28 years now.
