I managed to find some time yesterday to go by the post office, and some goodies have arrived for me!
This is a pile of linens I bought at a really good price on eBay. I love surfing eBay looking for craft supplies, so I was thrilled when I found these! They are 28-count cream, 28-count dark blue, and 32-count pale blue/grey.
And this little pile of floss is NPI silks for a couple of La D Da charts I've had in my stash for months and have finally decided to start. I've never worked with NPI silks before, so I'm really looking forward to this! Although I think they're going to stay stashed for a little while longer, because the last package I received was...
The Traveling Pattern from Kaye! This is Summer Garden by Little House Needleworks. I won it from her before I left to Yemen. She also sent me a sweet little bundle of goodies:
Two Threadworx threads, Mary Arden of England tapestry needles, and a beautiful card! It was so lovely to open up the package and see all of these beautiful things. Thanks, Kaye!
Now, the point of this Traveling Pattern is to pick out the backing fabric first, and then decide on the floss colors. I fully intended to choose a floral fabric, but then I saw this beauty and changed my mind:
Isn't it cute?! It's a dark purple, and has little white stars on it. I looked through my stash and realized that I had a Chameleon overdyed floss called "Hydrangea" and a faded green ribbon that would go perfectly with it. I have a rough idea of how I want to finish this off, but that will have to wait until a lot later. The rest of the floss is DMC.
I can't wait to start Summer Garden, but I'm itching to pick up the American Flag Quilt again, so I may have to spend a little time with that first. Once I do finish Summer Garden, I'll have a draw to decide who it goes to next.
Lots of love,
