I’ve been on a serious stash-busting mission lately. I don’t think I’ve bought any new thread since my Ramadan sampler, and that was just because I really didn’t want to mess up the colors on that one. It’s incredibly satisfying to see a huge jumble of thread and fabric decrease.
I found an old pattern that I bought years ago and completely forgot about. I dug it out and decided to finally stitch it. It’s called Summer Days, by Cathy Bussi. It’s a sweet little pattern, and I’ll be stitching it with two strands over one on some white 18-count Aida I bought this summer, and stash-busting some more with the DMC threads.
I’ve already made a lot of progress on it. It’s an easy, happy stitch, and the colors are gorgeous. I’m really enjoying having some straight, honest cross-stitching. Learning how to knit has been fun and challenging, but I’m ready to get back to my roots. I haven’t even stitched on 18-count since my very first sampler.
